We are pleased to announce that Siemens will be supporting the Global Spine Congress (GSC) as its Diamond sponsor.
Find out below why Dr. Alexander Grafenberg, Clinical Education and Collaborations Manager for the mobile C-arm unit at Siemens Healthcare, thinks that the GSC is the right platform for Siemens to interact with the global spine and neurosurgeon community.
Why did you decide to become our Diamond sponsor this year?
Imaging is an integral part of surgery, particularly when it comes to spine surgery involving complex anatomical structures. In collaborating with the AO foundation, Siemens would like to contribute to research and training for the latest intraoperative imaging technologies that enhance the scope of minimally invasive surgery. In addition, we help to overcome major challenges in the field of surgery by offering technologies and features that improve health outcomes and moreover reduce radiation exposure for both, patients and surgeons.
In organizing the GSC, AOSpine is offering a truly global spine surgery congress. Like Siemens, AOSpine has a global reach and is also a recognized leader in the field of spine surgery education. We believe that the GSC is the right platform to present ourselves and interact with this outstanding global community. We regard this major AOSpine congress as one of the highlights of the various AOSpine courses Siemens supports worldwide every year with our modern C-arms and educational activities that focus on intraoperative imaging.
How does Siemens benefit from its participation?
Since the start of the collaboration with the AO foundation in 2007, the Siemens booth at major AO events like Davos or Global Spine has become our ‘home base’ for welcoming many spine surgeons who are interested in finding out about the latest imaging technologies and developments such as the unique robotic-supported C-arm Artis zeego offering unmatched flexibility, or mobile C-arms, such as Cios Alpha with a flat panel detector or the Arcadis Orbic 3D. But even more important, by interacting with the global community we better understand the concrete needs and challenges they are facing, in order to provide state-of-the art intraoperative imaging technologies, helping them to achieve better patient outcomes.
As the Diamond sponsor, we are more than happy to provide presentations on intraoperative imaging in spine surgery at two lunch symposia with renowned experts in the field and hope we can make a meaningful contribution to this great and exciting event. We appreciate and are very much looking forward to meeting the participants, faculty and chairs at the congress and hope that the event will be enjoyed by all.
Thank you for these interesting insights. AOSpine would like to express its sincere gratitude to Siemens for its support as the Diamond sponsor of the Global Spine Congress 2015.
